Engaging your feminine energy through movement requires connecting with your mind and body on a deeper level that can illicit a healing response with a more in-tune awareness your strength.
These feminine energy movements truly will revitalize you and remind you just how fun, strong and graceful of a woman you are. These exercises let you tap into that true divinity that is the female power.
Breathwork Morning Exercises
Focus: Healing Feminine Energy
This kind of breathwork is great for centering you and allowing you to move past stuck emotions and it brings clarity in what you need to do next.
Do this before you have your morning coffee. Walk up, sit on your bed, move your body in circular motions and side to side stretches. Arms and neck first and rotate your hips. Let that stiffness loose. And then proceed with breathwork
Morning Pranayama Breathing Exercises Cleanse And Recharge for 15 Min is a great video to get you started on your weekend morning when you have some more time.
Quick Breathwork Practice:
- Put your hands over over your navel.
- Breathe in and out very deeply.
- Do this for one 1 minute
This calms your nervous system down allowing you to be more aware of what you as a woman need to prioritize and what your body needs (you can feel where your body needs attention, where it’s sore, where it hurts, all of it should be “louder” once you deepen your breathing).
Spicy Incline Walking
Focus: Strong Feminine Energy
If you want to be feel more confident and radiate (through some sweat), spice up your walks with incline walking. No holding the handles. Keep it a pace you can strut a bit and keep your posture upright. And work your way up.
This is not too strenuous because you’re not struggling for air, but you’re still pushing yourself to get that caloric burn advantage.
I model walk on the treadmill like I’m on the runway. I don’t listen to podcasts if it’s a grueling incline for me (13+). It’s easier for me to be more in-tune with the strut if I have a good bop for it.
Having a playlist ready that really just puts you in that show-stopper mood brings out a different you on the incline treadmill. Do this for 15-30 minutes.
Benefits: You’ll be burning thru glycogen storage (helping your body not retain more fat in the future), and you’ll feel less bloated and more confidently accomplished.
Current Pace & Incline: My treadmill incline is I start with 12 and then go to 13 and my speed is 2.4/2.5 (15-30 minutes depending on time constraints)
Current Time: In the AM, to get that boost in the very beginning of my day. I have more clarity and move with more confidence.
The spicy strutting and the sweaty accomplishment of burning that excess away is SO empowering!!
Dance Class (Partner Work)
Focus: Healing Feminine Energy
Dancer partner work is best kind to re-instate the feminine energy in relation with the masculine energy. Ballroom dancing and Argentinian Tango dancing in particular are structured in a way in which there is a lead and a follow.
Benefits: Typically the woman follows the man’s cues for dancing. And so, it’s such a GREAT practice in learning to let go of that control. You’re no longer the one that must guide and take initiative. You simply have to lean into the man and feel where his body is going to turn you to. You are essentially whisked away in whatever step combo and direction he wants to take you.
It’s such a difficult concept to grasp when you’ve been an independent woman ready to lead and anticipate the next move. It’s an exercise for your mind and heart to simply trust and let go.
For the Man: It’s great for him to exercise his masculine energy in flow with you.
Day Backpacking with Pets (Strong Feminine)
Focus: Strong Feminine Energy
Taking short morning nature hikes or urban backpacking is one way to get your back and core conditioned with toned legs. Urban backpacking is essentially a weighted backpack or just put your cat in there with a comfy base.
As you see in the picture, I just took my cat with a leash that I was holding in my hand and kept the bag unzipped 1/3 of the way for him to pop his head in and out as he pleased.
Benefits: Weighted hikes are great for really fixing your posture, tightening your core with all that stability work, and conditioning your overall body for that type of weighted walk aka resistance walking. It lets you improve your VO2 max for your cardiovascular health as well, while still enjoying yourself in your environment. Less painful and impactful on the joints depending on the incline you take and weight you have. It makes you more in tuned with your surroundings, better allowing you to connect to the more intentional feminine in you.
Choreographed Dancing (Online or In-Person)
Focus: Healing & Fun Feminine Energy
A fun Zumba online class or Caribbean Soca dance to really open up those hips is truly the best medicine to tapping into that confident fun girl side to you.
Here’s one of my favorite dance videos from Popfitness: 30-Minute Caribbean Cardio Dance Workout with Selena. She’s great at keeping the moves simple but fun to follow, and repeats them later so you can eventually catch on to it!
A great 10 minute dance workout to lift you into great mood with Zumba like movements and music is from Wandella X Fitness. Love her channel for her upbeat catchy music and fun energetic dance movements. You don’t realize you’re working up a sweat. You’re just letting your hips loose and letting your body fall into the rhythm.
Barre, Pilates and Yoga Girl (at home or in person)
Focus: Strong Graceful Feminine Energy
If you’re looking for a peaceful, fun and a bit challenging of a workout then Barre is the best for you!
If you want to really fix your posture, feel muscles you didn’t know you could feel and be stronger with your focus then Pilates will be lovely for you!
And if you want some regenerative yoga to give your body some deep stretches and allow it to open up that tightness your muscles have acquired then yoga is your saving grace
Either way, if you check out Move with Nicole , she will show you through it all!
30 minutes Barre with Nicole
Benefits: She makes all of the practices so easy to learn and so much fun. For Barre specifically (one of my favorites) you’re elongating your neck, dropping your shoulders and keeping proper posture to do the steps, all the while gaining a sense of feminine confidence as you bring your body in these graceful movements..
Balancing Act
I enjoy all of these exercises I mentioned in this article because sometimes I forget that I haven’t loosened my hips, let my hair down and really lean into my feminine self.
Being a woman often feels like a balancing act destined to make you lose your balance or derail you in this fast paced world we live.
All of these movements and exercises from dancing to nature walking to doing barre allow me to tap into the many facets of my feminine energy reminding me of how beautiful and strong I am as a woman. It is truly a wonderful form of deep self care.
